Youth Voice funding

The Department for Education has provided £850,000 to the British Youth Council to help give more young people a voice in their local communities. The contract will be delivered as part of BYC Services, through a regional structure and London-based central support team, which already offers a range of training and consultancy to organisations supporting youth participation. This will enable BYC to build upon its existing programme of support to young people in local and national Government. Youth Voice will enable BYC to use its network of 450 youth councils, the Young Mayors Network projects, and the UK Youth Parliament network to better effect, and to invite new young voices, especially those new or feeling overlooked, to play a part in developing the positive voice of youth.
