West Lancashire, Warwickshire and London

In West Lancashire cuts to the youth service will see staff levels reduced by almost a third and funding reduced by 43%. The service’s budget will fall from almost £21m for 2010-11 to £11.7m by 2013-14. A number of services are set to close or become less frequent.

Warwickshire County Council is set to close up to 24 youth centres unless youth centre managers or community groups develop business cases to run them independently. Five centres will be kept as centres of excellence in areas of the county where the need for targeted support is seen to be greatest – all of which are close to children’s centres, other services and have wider community links.

My Voice London has lost funding worth £148,149. This includes the early termination of funding from London Councils for a mentoring project for at risk children and young people and funding directed through local authorities from the YPLA for education business links.
