Transition Fund recipients part 2

Francis Maude, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society have announced the second set of payments from the £100m Transition Fund. Care Services Minister Paul Burstow has also announced an additional £7million for the fund from the Department of Health.

A total of nearly £15million has been awarded to 183 organisations. This includes NCVYS members Leap Confronting Conflict (£113,300), and Pro-Action Hertfordshire (£72,250). Other organisations receiving funding who work with young people include: YMCAs in Reigate & Redhill, Sussex Central, Doncaster and Winchester; Wycombe Youth Action; Croydon Youth Development Trust; Dorset Youth Association; Bread Youth Project; Young People Matter; Young Gloucestershire Limited; Young Devon;  Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs; Somerset Rural Youth Project.

NCVO’s researcher David Kane has produced a map of the recipients of the Transition Fund and classified the organisations who are receiving funding. “This shows that the results so far reflect the funding criteria set out when the Fund was launched – a particular focus on organisations working in social care.” Those organisations classified as working in social care include a number of the youth organisations mentioned above.
