Councils cutting voluntary sector budgets

Third Sector magazine has published a survey of changes to local authorities’ voluntary sector budgets. The results from 34 councils show that voluntary sector budgets have been reduced by 19% on average.  Councils including Liverpool, Sefton, Nottinghamshire and Derby have cut the amount going to specific voluntary sector budgets by at least 30%. However, councils including Ealing, Sandwell, Kirklees and Newcastle have increased their funding to the voluntary sector.
