Careers guidance

The Association of School and College Leaders has estimated that about a quarter of Connexions office have closed already and front line staff have been severely cut in many areas of the country. It argues that most schools and colleges rely on Connexions to provide careers guidance, and therefore suggests that more than 2 million young people ages 16-19 could lose out on careers advice. The government is putting in place a new All Ages Careers Service, which it plans to open in April 2012.
