OCS strategic partners programme

The Office for Civil Society is reducing its strategic partner programme over the next few years, and will not be funding any partners from 2014. The programme awarded £12.2m to 42 voluntary organisations this financial year, and it will be reduced in value to £4m in 2011/12 and then tapered down to £3m, £2m and zero over the following 3 years.

Funding will be available for up to 15 of the existing strategic partners, and no organisation will receive more than £500,000. The deadline is 25 February and successful applicants will be announced on the 22nd March 2011.  Minister for Civil Society Nick Hurd said that organisations most likely to attract the maximum grant were those in the process of merging or establishing formal partnerships with other organisations.

The government announced plans last year to reduce the numbers of strategic partners from 40 to a maximum of 15, and make sure that no organisation would receive more than 25% of its funding from the Office of Civil Society (OCS).
