Cuts at support organisations

NCVYS member Volunteering England is consulting with its staff and trade union on proposals for restructuring which would reduce its staffing from 55 to 24 posts, including the ending of 10 time-limited posts. The restructure will focus resources on strengthening knowledge to improve policy and practice and on engaging with their membership and the volunteering movement.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) anticipates that 66 of its existing 117 posts are at risk, including posts funded by Capacitybuilders, which will cease to exist at the end of March next year. NCVO suggests that a restructure and the development of new services will mean that a possible 37 new posts could become available, so around 30 staff are likely to lose their jobs.
