An Estimate of Cuts to the VCS

New Philanthropy Capital (whose Chief Executive is speaking at NCVYS’s annual conference) have published Preparing for Cuts: How funders should support charities in a world of government cuts and changing funding structures. The report details the amount of income that the voluntary and community sector (VCS) gets from the government, and estimates that the VCS’s income could drop by between £3.2bn and £5.1bn after the comprehensive spending review. The report goes on to examine how funders can best support charities that are facing decreasing government funding and increasing competition for contracts.
